Trent has been racing karts since age 8 and has amassed numerous race wins and championships at all levels. He made the move into cars into early 2009, at the tender age of 13, and before long was notching up podium finishes in the Skip Barber Regional Race Series. He followed in the footsteps of Team USA Scholarship winners Connor De Phillippi and Spencer Pigot by winning the Skip Barber Racing School Karting Scholarship Shootout in December 2010. As a fully fledged MAZDASPEED Development Driver, Trent has been a front-runner in the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National series, and has reaped further success in Canadian Formula Ford 1600 competition, including a wet-weather victory at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
