{"id":1733,"date":"1990-10-18T03:52:51","date_gmt":"1990-10-18T03:52:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/manifestclients.com\/teamusa\/?p=1733"},"modified":"2012-10-27T02:20:01","modified_gmt":"2012-10-27T02:20:01","slug":"vasser-for-ff-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/teamusascholarship.org\/?p=1733","title":{"rendered":"Vasser For FF Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oct 18, 1990<br \/>\nCosta Mesa, Calif. &#8211; Jimmy Vasser Jr., who this year has won five races in the nine-event Canadian Export &#8220;A&#8221;\u009d Formula Ford 2000 series as well as claiming the recent Formula Atlantic Shootout at Road America in the factory-entered Swift DB-4, will represent the United States in the Duckhams Formula Ford Festival and World Cup at Brands Hatch on October 26-28.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Festival is an event with an impressive history and I&#8217;m really looking forward to taking part,&#8221;\u009d said Vasser, who won the SCCA Formula Ford National Championship title in 1986. &#8220;It will be an honor for me to represent my country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vasser will drive the distinctive new Lanan 1604 chassis. The Bill Bray-designed, John Bright-built car recently made its debut in a &#8220;Star of Tomorrow&#8221;\u009d race at Silverstone with novice Steve Perry at the wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Motivation will be provided by top American Formula Ford engine builder Jay Ivey, who scored a Festival victory in 1985 with Johnny Herbert.
